Hello

I take 1/4 Carbidopa-Levodopo 25/100 tablets manufactured by Teva every 2 hours. I am having a difficult time splitting this pill as it crumbles easily. Would any of your pill cutters work on the Carbo/Levo 25/100 pill by Teva pharmaceuticals?   (Carbidopa 25 mg/Levodopa 100 mg is generic for Sinemet )

Gene

Thank you for your inquiry. I have not tried to split Carbidopa- Levodopa tablets, but looked it up on www.drugs.com and am quite confident that the Large Pill Cutter should do the job. Since it crumbles easily, I would like to test the tablets before you invest any money. If you could mail me 3 tablets, I can determine in a few minutes if the Large Pill Cutter is appropriate. I can then email you pictures of the results and return the cut tablets to you if you wish. Ken Welch

Thank you for sending the pills, Gene. I can understand why the Carbidopa-Levodopa tablets would be difficult to split with a conventional pill cutter as they are quite soft and crumbly. The Large Pill Cutter quartered the tablets very well.

Large Swiss Pill Cutter

The Large Swiss Pill Cutter accurately cuts pills that are larger than ¼ inch (6 mm) in diameter or width in half or quarters.
